Maddening Malware

Websites and social media are probably the best inventions of the 20th century. OK, maybe not the best, but it sure has made life a lot easier. Instead of going to the library after school, students can get all types of information online, as long they check the source, honor copyrights and refrain from plagiarism. Purchasing products has been taken to a whole new level. I can compare products online, check reviews and get items delivered to my home. I can discover new sources to help me work faster and smarter or research health issues and doctors in my area.

Unfortunately, the things I absolutely hate about the Internet are malware, spam, trojans and other malicious infections that compromise website, blogs and emails. It’s a nasty feeling to search for your company or name on Google, Bing and Yahoo and find a warning directly below the result stating, “This site may harm your computer.” I have been through this twice, once with a client’s website and the second with my own. I won’t mention all the things I would like to do to the people that enjoy sabotaging other people’s sites. I’ll just keep that visual to myself.

If you already are experiencing this type of attack, one company that is very reasonable and very fast is Sucuri.net. After trying to remove this myself, I finally gave up and decided to leave it to the experts. They scan and clean the site very quickly and get you reinstated with Google, so you don’t have to do that yourself.
